Amuna is a Somali-Yemeni-Emirati, Black & Queer rights activist. Passionate about social justice and public service, she founded the Black Arabs Collective, a project of personal dedication to the experience of the intersection of Blackness and Arabness in the Arab world.
She is the Associate Executive Director of the Marginalized Majority, a community-led registered Non-profit leading intersectional education and training programs that focus on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging tailored for marginalized Global South 2SLGBTQIA+.
Amuna is also one of the contributors to “This Arab Is Queer: An Anthology by LGBTQ+ Arab Writers”. An LGBTQ+ anthology featuring the memoirs of eighteen queer Arab writers, hailing from eleven Arab countries and the diaspora.
